ANNEMARIE BÖRLIND SUN CARE - Enjoy the sun carefree

The sun is alive, provides warmth and increases our well-being. But unfortunately, skin-damaging UV rays pose great dangers. With effective protection for your skin, you can still enjoy the sun carefree. Skin-compatible sun filters and the extract of kombu algae prevent sunburn. A sea buckthorn complex and vitamin E ensure healthy cell activity. After sunbathing, AFTER SUN products provide your skin with moisture and care.

There is hardly anything more pleasant than feeling the warm rays of the sun on your skin after the dark winter months. We need the sun and the warmth for our health, it awakens our spirits and increases our well-being by activating the entire metabolism. Blood circulation is stimulated, the skin is supplied with more oxygen and nutrients, cell division increases and the release of certain hormones is supported. In addition, the UVB rays produce vitamin B, which is necessary for bone formation.

It becomes critical when the skin, which is unaccustomed to the sun and unprotected, is exposed to too much sun in order to achieve the desirable tan as quickly as possible. This can lead to:

  • Sunburn,
  • Drying of the skin
  • Increased wrinkling
  • Premature, light-induced skin ageing.

ANNEMARIE BÖRLIND - Reliable sun protection without microplastics

All ANNEMARIE BÖRLIND sun care products can be used for your face as well as your body. They offer reliable sun protection and you can trust that the complete SUN CARE range is free from microplastics, mineral oils, parabens and silicones. ANNEMARIE BÖRLIND SUN deliberately avoids sun protection filters such as oxybenzone and octinoxate. This ensures that these active ingredients do not pass through the skin into the seawater and lead to harmful effects such as so-called "coral bleaching". In addition, the BÖRLIND sun range is designed without nanoparticles. This is because these are also suspected of damaging waters and the organisms in them.

Enjoy the sun without remorse - Our recommendation for staying in the sun
  • Avoid staying in the sun between 10:00 and 16:00.
  • In the first days, a protection factor of at least 20 is a must.
  • The level of sun protection refers to the application amount of 2 mg per square centimetre. This corresponds to about 35 g (6 teaspoons) for the body of an adult. A lower amount means a significant reduction in the protective power.
  • Protect eyes with sunglasses with UV-protective lenses.
  • Apply sunscreen 20-30 minutes before sun exposure.
  • Get out of the sun after the protection time has expired.
  • The self-protection time is only effective once a day and cannot be extended by repeated application.
  • Apply several times to maintain sun protection, especially after being in the water.
  • Apply sunscreen generously. Small amounts of application reduce the protective effect.
  • Protect babies and young children from direct sunlight. For babies and young children, use protective clothing and sunscreens with a sun protection factor (SPF greater than 25).
  • Even sunscreens with high sun protection factors do not provide complete protection against UV rays.
  • Avoid contact with eyes and textiles, permanent stains possible.

The radiation

The long-wave UVA and short-wave UVB rays have a special influence on the skin.

UVA rays: As the long-wave UVA light penetrates deeper into the skin, damage to collagen and elastic fibres can occur. The moisture-binding capacity is reduced and the suppleness, tone and elasticity of the skin diminish. UVA rays trigger direct pigmentation, but this only binds weak UV protection.

UVB rays: As the short-wave UVB light penetrates the basal cell layer, it stimulates indirect pigmentation (tanning) through melanin regeneration. At the same time, it promotes the formation of a "light callus" by thickening the horny layer. Too much" UVB radiation leads to sunburn and cell destruction.

UVC rays: As these rays are very short-wave, they do not reach the earth's surface.
