Handmade Aleppo Soaps

Aleppo soap is a purely natural product without chemical, synthetic or animal additives and free of colouring or preservatives. The reason for this lies in the old recipes that have been handed down. At that time, the boilers did not work with additives but produced pure natural soaps. In today's soap boiling factories in Aleppo, these traditional recipes are maintained and the soaps are made according to them. 

Aleppo soap and its ingredients

The Aleppo soap has an antibiotic and moisturising effect and is characterised by a subtle exotic scent. Aleppo soap cleans and cares for the skin at the same time and is made from olive oil and a variable proportion of laurel oil. Basically, the higher the proportion of laurel oil, the more expensive and valuable the soap.

Olive oil supports the self-regulating function of the skin and thus skin respiration. The monounsaturated fatty acids in olive oil are very similar to our skin fat. It is well absorbed by the skin and combines with the body's own protective skin mantle. The oil penetrates into deeper layers of the skin and binds moisture there. The skin can breathe and sweat, yet does not lose moisture. It is therefore just as suitable for cleansing and caring for delicate baby skin as it is for mature, sensitive skin and prevents the formation of wrinkles. Laurel oil is antiseptic and has a good antibacterial effect.

Ideal for daily care of skin and hair

Basically, Aleppo soap can be used for the body and for the hair. We have compiled an overview of how you can best use the natural soap.

• Aleppo soaps are most often used for body cleansing, both for the hands and for the rest of the body.
• You can also use Aleppo soap to wash your hair. Please note that the hair needs time to get used to the new care. It needs time to adjust and may look a little shaggy at first. Special Aleppo hair soaps contain additional essential oils and less laurel oil and are therefore more suitable for washing the hair.
• You can also enjoy a full bath with Aleppo soap. In doing so, you care for your skin and inhale the essential oils with the warm water at the same time.
